Location

To navigate to the “Location” settings, you will also need to firstly access the vault using your eXate credentials. Once logged in, you will be able to click on “Location” on the left-hand menu bar. There you will find the “Namespace” and “Connection Storage” pages.

Namespace

The namespace is used to register a namespace within the eXate system and link it to the API endpoints. It can be accessed by navigating to the “Namespace” option within the “Location” menu on the left-hand side of the eXate portal.

To edit a namespace click the pencil icon next to the chosen namespace. From here you can edit the following fields:

  • Name: Name of the namespace

  • IsDefault: Toggle box to indicate whether the namespace is default

When editing a new namespace, you can also add an API endpoint by pressing the “+” button next to the header. To set-up the API endpoint you will need to fill out the following fields:

  • nstance Name: Name of the API endpoint

  • EndPoint URL: URL of the endpoint

  • EndPoint Type: Type of endpoint

  • Port: Port of the endpoint

To add a new namespace, press the “+” button next to the namespace header and fill in the fields shown.

Connection Storage

The “Connection Storage” menu under “Location” is where you will find all Custom Connection Stores that will be used to store the “Keys” and “Shards. It can be found by navigating to the “Connection Storage” option under “Location”.

You can add a new connection storage by navigating to either “Key”, “Shard” or “FPE” and press the “+” button next to the header.

To add a key or shard you will be prompted to fill out the following fields:

  • Storage Type: Choice of connection (cannot be changed)

  • Country: A location chosen from a drop-down list

  • Connection: A type of connection

When adding “FPE” to the connection storage, you will be met with slightly different options to fill out:

  • Storage Type: Choice of connection (cannot be changed)

  • Country: A location chosen from a drop-down list

  • Connection: A type of connection

  • Key: The required encryption key to be delivered to the endpoint
