Data Sources

The “Data Sources” menu combines all user-defined connections. Here, you can access and connect all source and target data sources for the purpose of protecting them.

To navigate to the data sources vault, you will need to firstly access the vault using your eXate portal credentials. Once you are logged in, click “Data Sources” on the left-hand menu bar. From there, you will be able to access the “File Storage” and the “Relational Database”.

File Storage

In “File Storage”, you will be able to set up connections with a variety of file sources, such as SMB and your local storage. We also support AWS, HDFS and NFS which will be fully operational soon.

To set up a connection with a file source, navigate to either “Local Storage” or “SMB” and press the “+” button on the right side of the header. You can then enter a name and connection usage type and use the connection builder to set up your file source

Relational Databases

Similar to the “File Storage” you can also set up connections to databases you use under the same menu. We currently support Oracle, MYSQL, PostgreSQL, SQLServer, Snowflake, H2 and Dremio, which are all functional on the platform at the moment.

To set-up a new database connection, the process is the same as with file sources. After navigating to “Relational Databases”, press the “+” button on the right of the header. Then, enter a name and connection usage type and use the connection builder to set up your file source
